Confidence Restored

The macro environment for Asia’s media economies is robust, driven by economic growth and improved consumer confidence. The latest research from Media Partners Asia (MPA) indicates that net advertising revenues will grow by 6.1% this year to reach ~US$90 bil., as compared with a 4.0% decline in 2009. MPA sees advertising sales climbing a further 6.5% in 2011 to ~US$96 bil. This is good news for consumer-oriented media owners, a number of whom are renewing investment activity to grow domestic and regional franchises and acquire new properties.
